Restaurant owner Art Bouvier of Indianapolis was robbed one too many times and he’s taken a new approach to discourage would-be thieves, he’s offering a discount to armed customers. Anyone visiting The Roux with a concealed carry permit will automatically receive a 25% discount off their check.
On Saturday October 24th, 2015, The Roux was a victim of armed robbery around 7:30 PM. Bouvier doesn’t want his establishment to become a home for showdowns like some wild west saloon in the movies, but he doesn’t want to be robbed again either. In a Facebook post Bouvie said,
These folks are our extended family, and I do not take kindly to them being harassed in this manner. If thugs are going to come in and threaten OUR extended family with guns, you’d better believe I will use every trick I know to protect our family. ALL CUSTOMERS: UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE, YOUR CONCEALED CARRY LICENSE EARNS YOU 25% OFF YOUR MEAL WHEN YOU DINE IN.”
He’s quick to shoot down any argument against his decision with the statement “DO NOT TURN THIS INTO A DEBATE ON GUN CONTROL OR POLITICS. MY RESTAURANT. MY WALL. MY BUSINESS. I can give discounts to whomever I please.”
