When it comes to attempting archery headshots on turkeys, there can be a few different pros and cons. First, when it comes to the pros, if you are able to pull it off successfully, the turkey will die instantly. There won’t be any tracking necessary, which could happen with body shots. Even a blade nicks the head, the bird will die right away. When it comes to a negative, the head is constantly moving, and a very very small target to aim at. If you do miss though, you’ll miss cleanly and won’t wound the turkey. Lastly, when making a headshot and having such a small area to hit, you’ll want turkeys in very close to attempt making that shot.
