If you’re turkey hunting with a shotgun, you want to have the right shotgun size for you. There are two common sizes, with those being a 12 gauge and a 20 gauge. The biggest difference is going to be a 20 gauge is going to be much lighter and easier to tote around. If you’re going to be running and gunning, being mobile, you may want to use a 20 gauge. This is also a great gun for youth hunters. On the downside, 20 gauges typically aren’t going to be able to be as effective at long ranges. With 12 gauges, they’re usually going to be heavier, and with bigger shells you’ll be able to shoot further. Take a look at what kind of style of turkey hunting you’ll be doing to help decide what size shotgun you should use.
