The first thing I want to cover when cutting shooting lanes in the off-season is that this is my favorite time of year to do so. You can cut bigger shooting lanes without spooking deer for the fall. Deer are smarter than you think, and if you’re cutting lanes in the fall, you could be ruining your chances as they may take notice and avoid the area. It’s also much more comfortable in the spring as it’s not nearly as warm as it is in the summer, and you don’t have to get all hot and sweaty.
