One thing that is often overlooked in the off-season is gear maintenance. There are a few specific things that I like to do when it comes to off-season gear maintenance. The first being going over trail cameras. I recommend organizing these and making sure you have fresh batteries in them with cleared and formatted SD cards. Next, take time to inspect your bow. You may need to wax the string, get new strings completely, or you could notice loose bolts, etc. When it comes to hunting clothing, this is an opportune time to go through them all, wash them and make notes if you need to save up or purchase additional hunting clothing. Lastly, be sure to inspect your treestand straps, regardless if you take them down or not. If you need new straps for any stands, this is the time of year to get them.
