The most popular time of the year to be hanging treestands and cutting shooting lanes is easily throughout the summer. But, I want to share with you why I prefer completing my treestand work in the spring when possible. First of all, during the spring, the woods look how they will in the fall. During the summer, it doesn’t look anything like how it will come fall. It can be much easier to visualize your setup when hanging stands in the spring. Next, during the spring it can simply be way more comfortable as during the summer it can be extremely hot and buggy. Lastly, by hanging your treestands in the spring, you don’t have to worry about pressuring deer. Deer can be a lot more wary in the summer and you can leave a negative effect on them if you’re spending too much time in your hunting areas in the summer.
