Naples, FL resident Andy Meunier was attacked by a bear as he stepped outside his home to let his dog out. He describes the bear attack as an “uppercut” punch that knocked him over. The bear reportedly measured four feet long.
Meunier was rushed to the hospital after the attack and ended up with 41 stitches after a four-hour surgery. This is the first recorded human injury by a bear attack in South Florida. Since the incident, the Florida Fish & Wildlife Commisson (FWC) have since been setting donuts out as bear bait.
