Before he was President, Ronald Reagan was teaching us how to bow fish for sharks

This classic film clip featuring Howard Hill bow fishing for sharks was narrated by a young Ronald Reagan long before he ventured into US politics. Hill was often called “the World’s Greatest Archer” in his own lifetime, which makes sense given that he won 196 consecutive archery field tournaments. In addition to his prowess on the target range, Hill was an avid hunter with more than 2,000 animals taken by a traditional long bow. He is probably most famous in popular culture as the stunt archer from the 1938 Errol Flynn classic ‘The Adventures of Robin Hood.’ Hill was the man who made the infamous split arrow shot that has been duplicated on film and TV for decades since.
