The Plute Bull, a former world record bull Elk taken in 1899, sold for $121,000 in October 2016. The record setting elk was shot by John Plute in Dark Canyon, Colorado over a century ago. The purchase was made through an auction by an avid Elk hunter who’s as passionate about Colorado history as his is about big game.
