Founder of Wildlife Aid Foundation, Simon Cowell, had a very emotional deer rescue. In the video below, you’ll see the intense rescue in its entirety. A female deer was hit by a car and had several cuts that needed stitches. Simon made the decision to take her to the hospital, but it had to be quick.
Deer suffer from a disease complex called “capture myopathy.” It’s associated with the capture or handling of any wild animal. The body’s reaction to abnormal states such as infection, injury, extreme temperature, or even fear is stress. A deer can die of capture myopathy when it becomes too stressed.
