A backpacker traveling through Eagles Nest Wilderness, Colorado captured the horrific moment a pair of moose attempted to cross HWY 9. Many cars had noticed the moose and had already pulled over waiting for them to cross. One driver either wasn’t paying attention or didn’t notice the massive creature and hit the moose at high speed. Parks and Recreation officials allegedly tracked the moose but could not find the animal after it disappeared back into the nearby woods. Always pay attention to your surroundings particularly near dawn and dusk when traveling along rural roads.
