Hunter Coty Ward was out on a duck hunt with his friend and friend’s son when he captured footage of a boy trying to grow up a bit too fast. The dads put a full-sized shotgun in his hands but the young hunter clearly wasn’t able to get a proper grip. The blast sends him flying backward and his shotgun falls wildly to the ground. Fortunately no one was injured and everyone seemed to have a good laugh.
The video was posted to Facebook and quickly went viral with mixed reviews from the hunting community. Some hunters feel this is simply part of growing up and there is no better way to learn about recoil. Critics of the video feel the father was acting incredibly irresponsibly and suggest starting the young boy with a smaller gauge in a more controlled environment.
