Hirasaka Hiroshi, a Japaenese fisherman, landed an incredibly ghoulish looking wolf eel off the coast of Hokkaido. He shared a photo to twitter of his epic struggle to lift the massive monster. Hiroshi visited the Hokkaido coast specifically looking for deep-sea creatures like this. The average size of a wolf eel is around 4 feet in length, but his big catch measured in longer than 6.5 feet! Caught 400 miles from the site of the 2011 Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant disaster, the size of this eel could be evidence of the long lasting effect from the tragic meltdown speculates the New York Daily News. Given the proximity to the disaster site, Hiroshi will likely forego any meals coming from this eel.
