Here’s why you’ll never see a great white in any aquarium

Until the Monterrey Bay Aquarium carefully and diligently kept a Great White alive for nearly 6 months the longest any aquarium had been able to keep a captive great white was a mere 16 days. Marine biologists could not figure out why the animals responded so fatally to captive environments. Over time their research revealed a few things which kept the sharks from flourishing, such as the fact that white sharks have to swim with their mouths open constantly or their gills will not open.
