Hiking the Pacific northwest is about more than the views, it’s about the journey

Your weary ankles and knees tell you to stop, scream at you to stop, but your heart says keep going. Your eyes say, “Keep going.” Just over this crest. One more mile until the summit. One more hour until you cross the river. Everything inside of you is saying quit, but something else, something bigger than you, begs you to press on. There’s so much to see. It’s hard right now, it’s dangerous, but wait until you see what’s on the other side. Wait until you see the view from the top. That’s what hiking in the Pacific Northwest is all about.
