How destructive are bolt-tipped shotgun slugs?

Slugs are devastating shells to load in your shotgun. The huge rounds blast through your targets leaving a serious entry and exit wounds. But what happens when you mess with their composition and add a little something extra?

These ammo testers were sent 1 inch shotgun shells with allen-head bolts drilled into their surface. The end result was a round with even more destructive power than a normal shell, though it wasn’t quite enough to penetrate body armor. Still pretty neat for all you do-it-yourself ammo loaders.
