Dry-fire training isn’t a new concept. Police officers, the military, and special ops teams have been using dry-fire training to improve their shooting skills for years. However, the Strikeman Laser Firearm Training System bridges the gap between expensive shooting technology and affordability for Americans nationwide.

The Laser Firearm Training System allows you to advance your shooting skills affordably while providing live feedback and accuracy metrics in the app that shows your progress with every session.
Strikeman’s Laser Firearm Training System improves your shooting accuracy, saves money on ammunition, and is safe, non-damaging, and quiet – so you can accurately dry fire train in your own home. Included with the system are one Laser Bullet, one Target, one smartphone holder, and access to the Strikeman App which is available on both the Apple Store and Google Play.

IV8888 STRIKEMAN LASER FIREARM TRAINING SYSTEM REVIEW
Using the SIG M17 in my Alien Gear OWB Holster on a Blue Alpha Battle Belt, we start by running a few draws to give you an idea of how the system works. Once you start it up, the app will ask you a few simple setup questions. After those are answered to your specifications, the system then calibrates and is ready to start your training session. The Pro version provides 4-5 scenarios to choose from as well as different targets to shoot at so you can actually get a bit more involved in the decision process of your training as well.
Once the system is ready, I draw and get on target – getting a 10.0 average rating on my first shot. I cock and re-holster my firearm before taking my second shot and repeat to complete the training session.
Getting that instant feedback on your shot is really nice, thanks to Strikeman’s Laser Bullet. So the striker the hammer the firing pin basically hits the little tip on the back of the Laser Bullet which actuates it so the phone can pick up where the laser is hitting the target. Since it’s calibrated and perfectly centered, it can read how close to the 10-ring your shot went based on where the app records the laser impact.
In terms of setup, we played around with the target mount and it really didn’t take that long to figure it out and get it done. One thing to consider is your lighting, which is pretty important. If you use it outdoors, it will probably give you the best results but if you’re using it indoors, make sure you’re in a reasonably well-lit room. You also need to make sure that wherever you hang the target there is no separation of the background and that the phone is zoomed in all the way on the target. These things are easy to troubleshoot regardless of where you choose to train with the Strikeman Training System.
The Strikeman Laser Firearm Training System was easy to set up and we were able to start training quickly. The system keeps track of how many shots you make, the amount of time it takes you to make them, plus you can set up multiple profiles to track the progress made with different setups or for different individuals.
It was nice to be able to use the 9 mm laser cartridge in multiple firearms, providing real-time feedback on our shots made with a SIG M17, Glock 19, and CZ Shadow 2. But it’s important to mention you’re not limited to 9 MM. If you go to their website, you’ll find Strikeman Laser Bullets available in several calibers so you can train with your preferred firearm or several, if you choose to purchase additional Bullets.
One thing I definitely appreciate is how affordable the Laser Firearm Training System is as well. There are a lot of different dry-fire training systems on the market and we’ve tested quite a few of them, but I would say for what this setup costs and how good the entire system performed, this is an outstanding value for anyone looking to stay proficient.
