The natural world can be a brutal place at times. Animal instinct forces many species to do combat with their own kind, usually to protect a source food or family. That force is what drove these two bucks to lock horns and fight, but when a hunter happened upon these embattled animals, both bucks were laying on the ground, desperately struggling to free themselves from the way their horns had become tangled in one another’s. Though the helpful hunter had to place his feet on the animals’ necks to prevent them from thrashing at him, he was eventually freed them from their dire situation by breaking off one of the deer’s antlers, sending them both running back to the trees.
