Bowhunter Cody Kraut had a good feeling as he and his father hung their treestand in the pouring rain near a clearing where their trailcams had revealed a massive buck which they nicknamed “Alien” repeatedly emerge from the treeline. A week later, they climbed up their stand and waited patiently for “Alien” or one of the other bucks they’d spotted to show up. Then, just as the last light of the day was fading into dusk, Kraut saw “Alien” and his massive 9-point rack lumber out of the trees. With a quick call to get his attention, Cody loosed his shot and took the big buck down. The next day, he and his friends combed the area until they were able to track down Kraut’s long-awaited quarry.
