Hunters stumble upon incredibly rare 1000-year-old viking sword

While hunting geese in Iceland, a pair of hunters stumbled upon an epic find. Over 1000 years old, the huge viking sword was in remarkably good condition. The tip had been broken off but was recovered with the rest of the blade. After posting images to Facebook, one of the hunters was quickly contacted by the Iceland Cultural Heritage Agency requesting access to the artifact. According to BBC News, there have only been 20 other swords of this age ever discovered in Iceland. The sword has found a new home at the National Museum of Iceland. While these hunters may not have landed any birds, they did make one heck of a great story!
