The Umarex Airsaber brings a wow factor like none other. The concept alone takes the term “badass” to a higher level. Having this concept brought to fruition is more than incredible. A bolt action rifle that shoots arrows and is powered by air, innovation, and technology only Umarex could bring to the table. The Umarex Airsaber is a bolt action pre-charged pneumatic (PCP) arrow rifle airgun and one that stands alone in its class.
The Airsaber is like a modern bolt action rifle except it shoots arrows. This rifle is a legitimate weapon platform for big game hunting. In no way should the Airsaber ever be mistaken for a “toy” or just another air gun, it is indeed lethal and should be treated as such. This gun is driven by a 3625-psi tank of air delivering 25 effective shots per fill, giving you 450 FPS (Feet Per Second) and 169 FPE (Foot Pounds of Energy).
The Airsaber is equipped with an optional Axeon 4X32 scope. This scope has been specifically designed for the Airsaber. Getting your arrow on target is easy with this scope by using one of the five ranging cross hairs. Set your initial zero with the top crosshair and move the target back incrementally to determine yardage placements for the four remaining crosshairs. This scope come with Weaver/Picatinny style rings and finger adjust turrets for an easy sight in.
Aesthetically and ergonomically the Airsaber is well designed. It has an all-weather stock with rubber recoil pad. A picatinny rail for scope mounting as well as additional picatinny rails for attaching quivers or bipods. An integrated pressure gauge located underneath enables you to easily track the air in your reservoir leaving zero guesswork as to when it is time to refill.
I found the Airsaber to be one of the most enjoyable guns I have had the opportunity to run. Ergonomically it was comfortable, light, and easy to manipulate. I was able to run it repeatedly for several consecutive hours in a standing position versus having to bench the gun. The bolt action was a bit heavier than what I am used to, and I found that I needed to run the action more aggressively to ensure the gun was fully charged. As you can see in the related video, not doing so resulted in a failure to fire which instinctively led me to run the action again causing the arrow to leave the barrel with minimal force. I would deem this to be an operator error over anything related to the gun and it was quickly remedied by running the bolt with a little more force. Also included is a foster quick disconnect air filling probe that will fit a hand pump or air compressor for ease of air fill. Three Umarex Airsaber arrows also come with this gun making it ready to go right out of the box.

I want to spend a moment talking about the Umarex Airsaber arrows. Just as the mechanics of the gun are important, the arrows are as well being this is what ultimately is going to take down the game you are after. The Umarex Airsaber arrows are made exclusively for the Airsaber. These arrows are carbon-fiber, weighing 276 grains, 376 grains with included field tips. These arrows are solid, durable, and able to handle the extreme pressure the Airsaber has to offer. The arrow tips can be changed out, accepting most broadheads making them a great choice for both target practice and field use.
As a company, Umarex goes beyond manufacturing a product to creating cutting edge technology. They have included four major Umarex Technologies into the Airsaber and Airsaber Arrows.
Straight Flight Technology:
Straight Flight Technology™ Arrows receive energy directly to the front of the arrow unlike conventional arrows. This allows the energy to drive the arrow straight without bending, holding true to the statement “straight as an arrow.”
Adapta Point:
Umarex® Arrows accept screw-in field tips and broadheads for ultimate adaptability when target practicing, 3D shooting, big game hunting, or small game hunting.
HPS – High Pressure Shaft:
HPS Technology™ allows Umarex® AirSaber™ Arrows to withstand up to 3625 psi of compressed air inside the carbon fiber, glass shafts. Max pressure, max strength, plus max foot pounds of kinetic energy equals a devastating shot.
QVR – Quick Valve Release:
Quick Valve Release Technology™ creates a streamlined airflow from the PCP tank to the high-pressure air tube. This allows for less energy displacement and gives you the maximum power needed for every shot
PCP Release:
PCP Release Technology™ delivers highly accurate, consistent, and virtually recoil-free shooting. With up to 3625 psi of compressed air, it over delivers on kinetic foot pound energy for the toughest game.
Combined, these technological advances are certain to give you the result you are looking for. Whether you are target practicing, 3D shooting or out to hunt big or small game, the Umarex Airsaber offers everything you need and more. Coming in with an MSRP of $369.99 with Optional Axeon Scope and $329.99 without, you really cannot go wrong with choosing the Umarex Airsaber.
