The texturing on the grip of the Kimber R7 Mako is one of my favorite things. The texturing is top-notch and covers a lot of area. The ridge next to the slide keeps you from inadvertently getting your hand too high next to the slide; this allows you to have a natural grip on the pistol.

Kimber designed the R7 Mako’s rear-mounted barrel-locking lug to reduce the unlock angle of the barrel for consistent round presentation and low-felt recoil. The reliability of this pistol is unmatched. The shrouded ejection port sets this pistol apart from any other striker-fired pistols. This gives the slide more rigidity and gives you more recoil mitigation.

The Kimber’s R7 Mako’s flat-faced trigger is one of the best I’ve seen on a striker-fired pistol. There’s no trigger on any competitive micro-compact, striker fired gun that even comes close to what you’ll experience with the R7 Mako. Even with a pull weight of 5.0 – 6.75 pounds, the R7 Mako’s trigger delivers the smooth, consistent, short pull and clean, crisp break you’d expect from a single-action handgun. This trigger is excellent, and once you pull the trigger, it just stops. This will aid in better accuracy and quicker follow-up shots.

These striker-fired pistols are optics ready and come in two different options, optics ready or optics installed. You can mount any sight that fits the Shield pattern RMSc footprint on either the optics-ready or optics-installed model. The optics-ready model comes with Crimson Trace CTS-1500 Reflex Sight.

There’s nothing quite like Kimber’s new, uncompromising R7 Mako. This striker-fired pistol from Kimber has such an attention to detail, fit, and finish, which Kimber is known for. The Kimber R7 Mako is going to make an excellent firearm.
