Make your own Swedish Torch using this insanely simple DIY method

You’ve probably seen versions of the “Swedish Torch” at your local hardware store tempting people who don’t know how to make fire with the allure of simple, no-hassle method for getting a campfire or ad-hoc stove going. But did you know you could make one yourself for practically nothing at all? Just a little elbow grease stands between you and your outdoor stove. All you need to do is carve out a cross into the top of a log, then create a wider trough on top of it. Once you have the split pattern carved, start a fire on top of the log face, and the wood will do the rest of the work.
