An expert marksman made the shot of a lifetime when he took a whitetail buck standing more than 10 football fields away. His 1010 yard shot required an elevation adjustment of 23.6 moa, which is a drop of more than 20 feet. The flight time of the bullet was 1.4 seconds. Despite the incredible distance traveled, the .338 Lapua round still had 2202 ft-lb of energy when it hit the target. Watch the video carefully, you can see the ‘bullet mirage’ as the round disturbs the air along its flight path before hitting the buck.
