Meet the free, open-source robot poised to revolutionize off-the-grid farming

In the early 1900’s, farming accounted for almost 40% of US labor. Now, it’s less that 2%. With people trying to live sustainable, lower footprint lifestyles, and more and more people going off the grid, the engineers at farmbot.io have created an amazing free, open-source software tool called Farmbot for building small plot farms that will automatically dig, seed, and water themselves. All of the designs are available on their websites, and pre-orders for complete systems are open in June.
