The mother of this poor giraffe calf was forced to fight against two massive lions when they attacked her youngling, even though giraffes lack the biological weaponry to put up a formidable battle. The lions quickly attacked the young calf while the mother’s back was turned, as you’ll see in this video captured by Tarryn Rae while on a safari with Mankwe Game Trackers in the Pilanesberg Game Reserve in South Africa. Sometimes, even a good fight isn’t good enough, as the calf regrettably succumbed to its injuries.
