Nearly 10,000 stolen guns were found in a South Carolina home on Friday October 22nd, 2015. Chesterfield County Deputies received a tip and quickly brought a search warrant to the residence of Brent Nicholson. They discovered thousands of guns and hundreds of boxes of ammunition.
Officials found Nicholson in the neighboring state of North Carolina and arrested him in Union County on Saturday. He is charged with possession of stolen goods. At this time, investigators believe he was not planning on selling the firearms, but rather was purchasing stolen weapons and then hoarding them.
Officers discovered literal truckloads of other stolen materials around Nicholson’s property and even within the liquor store he co-owns with his father. It may take months before the stolen items are returned to their rightful owners, and some may never be reunited at all.
Nicholson’s father may also face charges pending further investigation.
