.50 cal BMG hog hunt controversy — Did this hunter go too far?

Hogs are dangerous, there’s no doubt about it, but one hunter may have gone overboard with an Armalite AR-50 rifle chambered in .50 cal BMG. With a round this big, you don’t really have to worry about using FMJ vs. hollow point.

This kill is causing controversy over what some are considering excessive hunting practice. Most complaints are centered on the size of the caliber and baiting. Is there such a thing as a caliber that’s “too big to hunt?”
