A spooked deer attempting to jump over a guard rail fell to it’s death. The buck’s flight and peril are both unexpected, and it’s not clear what caused the animal to jump. It appears that the driver of the vehicle may have been chasing the deer, which sent it into a panic. As a rule, keep your distance, don’t harass wild animals, and contact your local DNR immediately should you discover or cause the injury of a wild animal.
