Secret Compartment Furniture all started with owner/designer/builder Jill Herro in the quiet Amish country of Ohio. In the spring of 2009, Jill had never shot or even handled a firearm in her life but when a group of girlfriends invited her to take a class with them, she said yes and discovered a passion that would soon hit another bullseye.
After buying her first firearm, Jill began searching for quality gun storage furniture to securely store it within reach. When her search failed to produce products that met her standards, she recognized an untapped market for gun owners and started working with Amish furniture makers in her area to design and craft quality products.
“People buy a piece and then come back and buy another piece and I’ll ask them, ‘Have you told anybody?’” Jill says. “They say, ‘No, I haven’t even told my kids!’ We’re glad our customers love our products but a downside of that is that I get no word of mouth because no one tells anyone what their furniture does.”

FIRST IMPRESSIONS
This is a beautiful piece of furniture, it’s all solid oak and you can get it in different types of wood and stains. It has really nice drawers with plenty of room, impressive construction, and you can tell it’s a quality piece – it looks good just as is.
If you look at the extended drawers from the side, you can see those nice metal rails making the drawers open and close really smoothly. The drawers are made of solid pine and are very sturdy. You can also see that everything is dovetailed in, making it sturdy and a quality item you can tell it’s a piece that will stand the test of time to be passed down through the generations.
No matter how you use it or where you put this piece of furniture, it’s a quality item that is going to look good and work well for years to come, so it’s a real WIN-WIN in my book.
FURNITURE WITH FUNCTION
The product I picked up for my home is Secret Compartment Furniture’s Traditional End Table with 3 drawers. It features full-extension metal glides and dovetail construction on the drawers. The top of the table slides forward to reveal a secret compartment located behind the top 2 drawers.
The bottom drawer has a false back, allowing for a 2nd compartment. Another bonus is that this end table comes with a low-tech, well-hidden locking mechanism so you can rest easy knowing your valuables are secure.
The top compartment measures 14 1/4″ wide x 12″ high x 7 1/2″ deep (front to back). The compartment at the rear of the bottom drawer is 11″ wide x 5 1/2″ deep (front to back) x 3 1/4″ high. Overall dimensions are 24″ long x 22″ wide x 24″ tall.
