Level the playing field with S&W’s best-performing micro-compact to date. Next-gen EZ technology, low recoil impulse, and versatile magazine capacity all in a compact footprint, make the Equalizer an ultimate CCW. This 9MM features a single-action trigger that allows for a short take-up, clean break, and fast reset to make follow-up shots quicker. Furthermore, the Equalizer provides the perfect balance of power and capacity across 10-, 13-, and 15-round magazines.
The slide operates using easy-to-rack technology to cater to a wide variety of needs and the frame includes a picatinny-style rail to mount lights or lasers for any defense scenario. A new optic cut pattern allows the user to mount their choice of sight for enhanced accuracy and the 3.675” barrel gives a longer sight radius for increased iron sight precision.
The Equalizer also features a new grip texture and pattern designed to give you more control when firing and more comfort when carrying.
SOOTCH’S EQUALIZER WRAP UP
With the flush-fit magazine, the Equalizer still gives you enough grip to control the pistol – if you have large hands, it’s going to hang off a bit but that’s with the smallest magazine with 10-rounds. When you come in with the 13-round magazine, it’s like a standard full-size pistol, more like a Glock 19 and silhouette. Great cocking serrations, I really like the improvements here, more definite than even the fish scales, which personally I like. This gives you a little deeper cut and makes it easier to bring back – and with the small ledge at the back of the slide so then when I bring it up, it gives you that full grip – making it easier to control and get on target fast.
The Equalizer is a good shooting gun and it gives you three great options for concealed carry. You will notice how flat it shoots. It’s thin like a 1911 but has a lot of capacity. The 9MM gives you plenty of defensive capability and especially since this is on the EZ platform, it has very simple controls and is a great little gun!
S&W also sent a Holosun ESP Micro Red Dot and hand-crafted CrossBreed IWB Holster for this review along with the Equalizer. This setup is really impressive!
