Alex talks about getting your gear ready for that first hunt of the season. It’s a lot of work, but when your gear sits idle in storage all year, there are a number of things you want to do to prepare it for the first hunt of the year.
First – round up all your hunting clothes. Sort it – separate the early and late season apparel, take out what you need now and put away what you’ll need later. Wash all of your clothing in scent free detergent.
Second – do you have everything you need? What are you missing? Make sure you have broadheads, arrows, your bow & all of the necessities.
Third – details! Inspect all your gear and make sure nothing is broken or damaged.

Fourth – it’s been a while since you’ve hunted so familiarize yourself with everything again!
Fifth – make sure you have the smaller, less obvious but very important accessories! Toe ropes, chest harness for binoculars, etc.
And lastly – organize! Know where everything is and pack everything in an organized manner so you can access it easily on that first hunt.
Good luck this season, y’all!
