With little more than 2x4s and tie downs, kayaker builds a redneck catamaran

Scottish kayaker and YouTuber Graphite Panda whipped up one novel way to paddle around the lake or the ocean using a bunch of materials one could find at any home improvement store. Using his two open-top Ocean Kayak Malibu Two XL kayaks, he built a deck from treated pressure board, then mounted that across two 2x4s, which are lashed in place with simple ratchet-clamp tie downs. The whole thing is surprisingly sturdy and buoyant, and while Panda says its great on the lake, he’s hoping to make the entire right capable of supporting a small outboard motor for some oceanic adventures.
