The Windcatcher AirPad 2 can be fully inflated to a 6″ deep mattress in seconds with just a few breaths of air. Unlike other valves, the Windcatcher utilizes a phenomenon known as fluid entrainment to pull ambient air through a secondary jet into the mattress with each breath of air. This technology is already used in medical applications to deliver precise amounts of oxygen mixed with ambient air to patients wearing a breathing mask. Existing “self inflating” valves take longer to inflate, only fill mattresses with a depth of 1″ or less, and still require a few breaths of air to reach full volume. Ryan Fayne’s idea was featured on the TV series Shark Tank and he was awarded $200,000 by investor Lorri Greiner in exchange for 5% of the company. Check out the video and see for yourself.
